I like 'kaya' toast and half boiled egg a lot!!! So when I get to know that there was a shop famous for these in 'Singapore', I told them I need to try it... Apparently, you can find 'Ya Kun' quite easily in 'Singapore'... Something like 'Old Town' in 'Malaysia'!!!

The history of 'Ya Kun'!!! But too bad as I don't really have the time to read!!! My mind was on the toast and half boiled egg!!!

Really nice looking half boiled egg... Passed my first inspection...

As for the toast, it looked nice as well but sadly, the 'kaya' is not up to my standard and I prefered if they added more butter to it!!!

I ordered their version of 'French' toast and because of the 'kaya', it doesn't taste that nice as well...

The saving grace... Half boiled egg was perfect!!!

And finally, the worst of the day!!! Tasted too bland for my liking...

Other than chilli crab, there's one more dish that is famous in 'Singapore'... Introducing the star of the day - FROG PORRIDGE!!! I've tasted those selling in 'Jalan Alor' and I'm liking it... So what about those serve in 'Singapore'???

Well I find them delicious even after attending a 'ROM' dinner where my stomach is as big as my 18" tyres!!! There were a lot of restaurant selling this delicacy but my 'Singaporean' friends said that this was the famous one...

No address but I know the restaurant is located in 'Geylang'... Caught a glimpse on the famous 'Red Light District' and I'm not impress... But at least better than 'Malaysia'!!!

Our first meal when we reached 'Singapore'!!! Our friends took us to some shopping complex and we had our lunch in the food court... Walked around and noticed that the food sold there were quite similar to those found in 'Kuala Lumpur'... We tried to order something unique but frankly speaking, it was something almost impossible to achieve!!!

So instead we looked for something that we felt like eating... My darling ordered a steam rice combo  which includes some steamed pork, a bowl of soup and a small portion of steamed egg...

As for me, I ordered a bowl of dry beef noodle... I was shocked the moment I saw the gravy... It was super duper thick unlike those found in 'Kuala Lumpur'... As for the beef noodle, it was nothing to shout about...

Normally whenever we went travelling (which required us to fly), we would most probably get someone to fetch us or took a cab to the airport... This time round, we don't have anybody to drive us there so my darling suggested we drove there instead... The moment she told me that, I looked at her astonished!!! Then I gathered my composure and asked whether she's out of her mind... "Do you know how expensive it is to park at the airport"??? And her answer is a "yes"... So she started to explain saying that it is actually much cheaper compare to taking cab... After listening to her, it really does make sense to drive and park there...

Our flight to 'Singapore' is early in the morning and it required us to start our journey at around 5 something in the morning and I believe the cab fare would be around RM80 or more per trip!!! This in fact was much more expensive compared to our parking and I have not added in the trip back which will set us back another RM80 or more... So as a conclusion, if you're going on a short trip, it is wiser to drive and park at the airport... If you're travelling light and alone, then this is a different story as you can take other types of public transport that's much more cost effective...

When one visit 'Singapore', what is the food that's high on the must eat list??? For me, definitely the chilli crab... I know we can get chilli crab here in 'Malaysia' as well but according to my darling (who had tasted it before), it was one of the best crab she ever tasted and not forgetting the size of the claw!!!

So this time round, my wonderful friends in 'Singapore' decided to let me feast my eyes and not forgetting my taste bud as well on this culinary wonder...

Fried mini squid that is super duper crunchy and flavourful!!!

Very sinful to eat this!!! Guess my cholesterol level will sky-rocket to a new height!!! BIG prawns by the way...

Here comes the cream of the crop!!!

OMG, notice the super duper BIG crab claw??? According to the waiter, I'm really unfortunate because the supply of crabs that day were a lot smaller... What??? This is BIG enough for me!!! The taste is definitely better than those I've tried in 'Malaysia' and there is no doubt about that... Besides that, the crab is super fresh and the meat is juicy and sweet as well... My God, I totally agree with my darling now...

Just look at the claw and they said this is one of the smallest around!!! Hmm notice anything unusual??? They actually provide apron for their customers!!! That's not all because besides apron, they provide gloves as well!!! All my friends decided to wear it and I go the manly way of dirtying my hands and shirt!!! Frankly speaking, I regretted for not wearing the apron cause my shirt is bloody awful at the end of the day!!!

Gloves that I mention earlier...

One of the side dish that really compliments the chilli crab is none other than deep fried 'mantou'... In 'Malaysia' we only have deep fried version (if I'm not wrong)...

But in 'Jumbo' they serve steamed one as well... As I don't fancy steam stuff, so I did not try it... No comment on how it goes with the chilli crab gravy but what I can say is deep fried 'mantou' with chilli crab gravy rocks!!!

They have a lot of other variants but we opt for chilli and black pepper... Doesn't look promising at first glance but trust me, after sinking my teeth on one, I'm hook... And at the end of the day, black pepper is the one I choose... Surprisingly but yes, it is that good!!!

Bottom line is, 'Jumbo' really knows a thing or two on cooking crabs!!! This is by far the best crab experience I have... Thanks to all my friends in 'Singapore' for this lovely dinner... :)

I've never that thought this will ever happen to us... Never!!! I still remembered reading a blog post from famous blogger 'proudduck' and laughed at the incident where she and her friend actually missed their flight (http://www.proudduck.com/2011/12/curse-of-4th-floor/)... I was thinking to myself how they managed to miss it and how they felt about it???

Fast forward a few months later, I know the feeling... I do... It sucks BIG time... Actually it was not my fault nor my darling... It was my 'FrankenBenz'!!! We are flying to Singapore and our flight is the earliest... We left early and I'm very sure we will make it on time... Just when we were about to reach 'LCCT', 'FrakenBenz' decided to throw tantrum!!! It actually died just 500m shy from 'LCCT'!!! I tried starting it a few times to no avail!!! Nothing much I can do... So I asked my darling to go to the check-in counter first so that we can get our boarding pass...After a while, I managed to start 'FrankenBenz' and quickly drive it to the nearest car park... Called my darling to know her whereabouts an also the situation... I was told by my darling that the counter was close...

Walked as fast as I could to meet up with her and planned our next step... This was our first time taking 'Tiger Airways' and we didn't know that they actually close their counter one hour before departure and the best part was, not a single soul was found at their counter... Besides, they didn't even have a service counter and we got nobody to talk to... At least 'Air Asia' is better where there are a lot of staffs working around at the counter...

No choice but to wait for the next flight and the penalty was RM125 per pax!!! Damn, wasted RM250 for nothing... But looking at the bright side, we actually board the same plane with three of our friends attending the 'R.O.M' in 'Singapore' as well... Being together with friends... PRICELESS and not forgetting we actually bumped into 'Dato Lee Chong Wei' and he was walking right beside me!!!

I DON'T THINK SO!!!

Frankly speaking, I don't have good impression for 'Singapore' ( continue reading if you're feeling piss off right now!!! )...

Frankly speaking, I don't have good impression for 'Singapore' (continue reading if you're feeling piss off right now!!!) as a lot of my friends complaint about it... But most of them are still working there... I know the main reason for this is because of the conversion rate from 'Singapore Dollar' to 'Ringgit Malaysia'... So no matter how bad the country is, you will still need to tolerate...

Is been a long time since I last step into 'Singapore' as a tourist... I went there a couple of times last year but it was purely business and the only place that I went was my customer place situated in 'Woodlands' and 'Marina Bay Sands' which was also one of our customer... That's it... Nothing more and nothing less...

We were really excited when we had the opportunity to travel to 'Singapore' and pretend to be a tourist for a day a fortnight ago... Actually we were attending a friend's 'ROM' and in the meantime, we took the opportunity presented at us and decided to go sight seeing the very next day...

After spending a day in 'Singapore', it changed my perception totally!!! It is a beautiful country and the living expenses is way lower compare to 'Kuala Lumpur'!!! (please don't convert the currency... what I'm talking about is earning the same amount of money in both country and try buying something similar... for example, an 'Apple iMac' cost around RM3600++ in 'Malaysia' whereas in 'Singapore', you can get one for around $1600++!!! RM3000 a month can't get you an 'iMac' in 'Malaysia' but $3000 a month can get you at least one and a half 'iMac' in 'Singapore'... see the difference???)...

Don't really have enough time to shop around as we got a flight to catch... Don't want to miss my flight again!!! (will blog about this in my coming blog!!! our first time missing a flight)... Brother-in-law took us to the famous 'Orchard Road' and some other shopping complexes around that area as we need to meet up with some other friends that are currently residing in 'Singapore'...

The famous durian roof of 'Esplanade'!!!

Inside 'Esplanade'...

Going around 'Singapore' is really easy... You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out as their 'MRT' is really user friendly something like our very own 'LRT'...

'Orchard Road'!!! Finally have the chance to get up-close and personal with it!!! In my opinion, there's nothing special about this road... But for the ladies, this is a very different story...

This is so very cool!!! Walking advertisement... I know we have this in 'Malaysia' as well... But the ladies are not as hot as these!!! Very beautiful looking girls (not sure about the guys though)... The way they place the ad is ingenious but I wonder what will happen if there's a strong gust of wind blowing either from the front or back??? Will these ladies be blown away??? I doubt so looking at how skinny there are!!!

Below are some random pics of the shopping complexes that we have visited... Unfortunately, I can't remember their name... Not even a single one!!!

'H&M' is very cheap in 'Singapore'... All the clothes and pants selling in double digit... Only coats retailing over a hundred dollar... Hopefully 'H&M Malaysia' will price their clothes as low as in 'Singapore'!!! But I really doubt so...

After spending almost a full day in 'Singapore', I'm starting to fall in love with it!!! I guess my friends in 'Singapore' will agree with me on this... Exchange rate is only one of the reason and there are a lot of  other good reasons for them to be staying there (cheap food/electronics/clothing and etc)!!! But good times tend to pass really fast and is time for us to come back to reality and start working my ass off again!!!
