Designed by Josh Cyrul, the all new TOP Racing chassis will be called the Photon... Designed to run on both alsphalt and also carpet racing... It was also suitable for drifting like all others RC chassis... The car has a super low center of gravity thanks to the fact that most of the structural components lay on the main chassis which minimizes material volume and mass above the main chassis... The shock towers are also mounted directly to the bulkhead without a bulkhead cover, eliminating unneccesary parts and lowering the car center of gravity...

Besides that, the Photon has been optimized for use with Lipo sacks... With brushless motor in mind, and specifically smaller diameter spur gears, the motor mount allows the mounting of a wide range of gears that makes gearing more flexible...

With the same wheel section as the 2007 World Championship machine, world class performance is now available in a standard model... Launched in 2007, the Lazer ZX-5 SP adopts the same wheel sections as the new specification version of the ZX-5 that entered into the 2007 World Championships... This newly designed suspension shows superior turning performance at different speeds and on a variety of different typres of surface... The advanced aerodynamics of the body also generates effective down force to keep the machine anchored to the surface...

The Lazer ZX-5 is the culmination of Kyosho's 15 years of experience with electric 4WD off road cars... The Lazer was designed from the ground up as an off road electric buggy, not a 4WD on road sedan with longer arms and shocks... Although this model had been released for quite a number of years, nonetheless it still caught my attention because of the spec and features that it packed... The Lazer uses shaft drive instead of belt... The shaft drive chassis is designed to promote weight balance left to right as well as porper front to rear balance...

What really surprised me is the amount of item that came together with the kit... The Lazer came with 3 separated types of front gear case... A spool, one way and diff... It is really hard to find nowadays... Most other brand will only provide either 1 types of gear cases... Besides the gear cases, the Lazer also came equipped with Kyosho "Twin Cap Pro" shock instead of those plastic shock found on the Tamiya DB01 Durga or Baldre... Other than that, it also came equipped with rear anti roll bar and also anodized blue aluminum shaft and motor mount... Lastly, it also came equipped with a slipper clutch... What I can say is, it is really value for money because the selling price is only slightly more expensive as compare to Tamiya DB01... If you want to hop up the Tamiya DB01 to the exact spec as the Lazer, you can actually buy another Tamiya DB01 already...

This really is my new dream buggy...

Xpress mini 1:10 RC cars are the latest craze in Malaysia... The dimension is the same as Tamiya M-chassis but Xpress car is 4WD whereas Tamiya M-chassis is only 2WD driving either the front or the rear... Xpress came out with 2 types of kit, the pro kit and the junior kit... The main differences between these 2 kits are pro kit uses carbon fiber lower and upper deck whereas junior kit uses fiber reinforced plastic (FRP)... Besides that, pro kit uses aluminum front and rear bulkhead and knuckle... As for junior kit, it uses more cost effective material which is plastic...

This is the Xpress MRR2 Pro Kit V2.1... The is the new version... The placement of the servo is different and the design of the upperdeck is different as well... By using this design, Xpress engineer is able to lower the centre of gravity of the whole car... Besides that, the weight distribution is also more balance in V2.1...

This is the junior kit...

The pro kit is currently retailing at RM899... By looking at the price it is indeed a very good buy because you don't have to hop it up anymore... Junior kit is retailing at RM499... This is really cheap comparing it to Tamiya M-chassis... No wonder it is so popular nowadays... But in my opinion, if you have the money, is better to go for the pro kit... If you thinking of buying the junior kit and hop it up yourself, better don't... The reason for this is it will cause a lot more compare to pro kit...

All these hop up items will definitely enhance the outlook and also performance of your DB01 buggy... Although some of the items are not really necessary, but who can resist the alluring blue anodized aluminum... Frankly speaking, I can't...

If you like your chassis all bling up, these conversion will definitely suits you nicely... Other than that, by using carbon fiber chassis, your car will be more rigid and it is good for handling... You can actually use this chassis conversion on the new chassis that Tamiya is going to release call DF03RA which is meant for rallying...

DB01 optional hop up part... Slipper clutch... The benefit of slipper clutch is to control the application of power on low traction off road surfaces... Controlled and adjustable spinning of the slipper clutch instead of excessive wheel spin gives more control and better acceleration...

Actually DB01 Baldre is exactly the same as DB01 Durga except for the bodyshell... The design of the bodyshell is different so it depends on individual preference... But in my opinion I prefer the Durga over Baldre although Baldre is the newer one...
