What A Stupid Idea!!!

A few days ago, both me and my darling went to Carrefour for some groceries... The guard at the entrance forbid us from going in because my darling had her notebook bag with her... Ok then what shall we do??? She asked us to hand over the bag... Without saying anything, she took out a cable ties and tied it onto the zip... In my mind I was thinking wow this is going to take some time... But to my surprised, she only tied one of the zip and let us in after that... What's the point of doing this??? Stupid wasn't it!!! If people really want to steal, they can cut of the cable ties as well... In my opinion, they are doing something really stupid and I'm very sure the management of Carrefour are not SOBER and definitely not thinking with their brain when they implement this!!!

A few days later, I went to Tesco and this time I'm carrying my camera bag with me... When we reached the entrance, the guard as usual stop us from going in... This time is a HE... He asked me what's in my bag and I told him camera and he just let me in... I really like this because it save me some hassle of removing my bag and let the guard tied a cable ties onto ONE of the zipper!!!

Carrefour please learn from Tesco!!!

Lowepro Flipside 300

This is my new camera bag... Lowepro Flipside 300... I decided to change back to backpack instead of using my shoulder bag because I find that shoulder bag is really uncomfortable when using it for an extended period... A backpack distribute the weight evenly on your shoulder so is much more comfortable... So back to backpack again!!!

There are two reasons why I choose the Lowepro Flipside 300... First is because of the incorporated tripod holder... I really like this features a lot... I seldom bring out my tripod because I find it troublesome to carry it around... So with the Flipside 300, finally I can solve my problem once and for all... The second reason that I choose this bag is because of security... Can you notice that there is no zipper in the front of the bag??? The only way that you can access to your gear is from behind... I find this features really interesting and I think is really good when you use it for travelling...

A small compartment on the side of the bag... This compartment is good for storing small items such as memory card, pen, cloth and etc...

I can fit in all my gear into this bag... The arrangement is much better as compare to my previous Tamrac shoulder bag... The padding is also much more thicker and you can rest assure that your gear is in safe hand!!!

Skipping Dinner Because of Luncheon Meat!!!

I'm sooooo full!!! Even until this very moment... I had my brunch around 12 something in the afternoon and I'm so full that I'm force to skip dinner and all thanks to a can of luncheon meat... Actually not only luncheon meat... I had a whole can of luncheon meat, 5 slices of Gardenia bread and 2 slices of cheese... I have not eaten luncheon meat for like ages and today's brunch is just awesome!!!

And not forgetting the curly fries or Twister fries in McD language...

Now to the best part of all... The Prosperity Burger set is included in the McValue Lunch set!!! Price at Rm9.95 only per set... Awesome isn't it... If you can't make it between 12pm to 3pm, then the price would be RM11.88 per set...

2012

Last week I managed to watch '2012'... Really hard to get the ticket... Everywhere is fully booked... Even the front row seats are all sold out... This movie is in my 'MUST WATCH' list for year 2009... So naturally I have really high expectation for this movie...

Boring, boring and boring!!! Nothing special... True to the fact that the graphics and special effect are excellent... Other than that, I can't find anything special that is worth mentioning anymore... Half way through the movie, my brain was begging me to leave the cinema... I'm afraid that this movie is really super boring to me... And the worse part is the damn movie is actually quite a long winded one... Around 2 and a half hours!!!

This movie is just too ridiculous and predictable... Why is it predictable??? Because you know by the end of the day, the main character will NOT die... The car scene is absurd... It doesn't looks real at all... Is just too ridiculous!!!

In my opinion, 'Armageddon' is still the best disaster movie around... Ok, so what's the difference between 'Armageddon' and '2012' you might ask... 'Armageddon' got everything - disaster, romance, comedy, suspense, scene that makes you cry and not forgetting happy ending while '2012' got nothing except disaster all the way and this is what makes it boring in my opinion...

When you finish watching 'Armageddon' you will get a mix feeling... When the movie first started, you will have some comedy and romance... Then when they are about to leave for space, the suspense started to built up till Bruce Willis decided to sacrifice his life and this is the part that makes you cry and last but not least, happy ending when they manage to save human kind... As for '2012'.................................... Er I can't think of anything except that the earth's core is heating up and the earth's crust is collapsing away... Anything else, nothing... I'm almost bored to death watching this movie!!! One of the biggest movie flops in 2009... A huge disappointment...

Sambal 'sotong' and prawns... My mum's first attempt and surprisingly, it tasted awesome...

Cabbage with dried shrimps...

Sweet and spicy flower crab... Very nice!!!

Frankly speaking, nothing beats home cooking... I've been dining out everyday for almost 7-8 years already... So whenever I manage to go back to my hometown, mum would try her best to cook something for me and my darling... These dishes were cooked by my mum and dad... Don't be surprise because my dad loves cooking... I think I got the genes from him as well... I love cooking!!! But I hate preparing the ingredients... Guess that's the reason I won't qualify as a chef...

DIY Light Box

Yesterday I decided to DIY one light box for my product shooting purposes... The benefit of a light box is to reduce shadow thus making the product much nicer... Other than that, I can setup my flash gun to fire it either from the side or on top of my product depending on the effect that I want... It is very straight forward and in my opinion it is one of the easier DIY available... What you need is some very basic stationary and it only takes around 30 minutes of your time...

These are the stationary that you need in order to make the light box...

Glue...

4 pieces of cardboard... I choose those with black on one side and white on the other... These will be the main structure of your light box... 1 piece for left and another piece for right, 1 piece for the back and finally the last piece will be the base...

1 piece of drawing paper... This will be your back drop... You can choose whatever colour that you like even those with patterns that you find interesting...

3 pieces of tracing paper... These paper will be acting as a diffuser...

Firstly what you need to do is cut out the center just like in the picture above... But make sure you save some space for you to glue the pieces together in order to form a box...

Once you manage to cut out the center, take the tracing paper and glue it onto the cardboard so that the tracing paper is now covering the area that you just cut out...

Viola... This is the finish product... As you can see from the picture, the light box is not cover on top... By doing so, I can take my picture from the top as well as from the front... More versatile in my opinion... I set up my flash gun to wireless mode and mount it onto my tripod... Time to go shooting...

See my flash gun firing from the side???

This is the result of shooting a product using a light box... Very little shadow and the all white background looks more professional and it will draw peoples attention straight to your subject... People will not get distracted by the background...

This picture is taken by placing the flash gun on the side...

This is taken by placing the flash gun on top of the subject... Can you see the difference between these two pictures??? Quite obvious right...

As a conclusion, I think a light box is a must for those that likes to do product shooting... The difference between shooting with and without a light box is very significant... It only takes you 30 minutes to an hour max to do... The best part is, it only cost me RM9.00 for this... In my opinion, money well spent I must say!!!
