Another Chu Cai Guan !!!

We spent our last night in Shanghai eating Chu Cai Guan again!!! This time we purposely took MRT to Xu Jia Hui because we heard that the was a Chu Cai Guan there... 2 of our friends actually went there and had lunch... So left 4 of us... When we reached there, we were surprised because from the signboard, we saw a Hong Kong word in from of the Chu Cai Guan... So we decided to call our friends who had lunch in this restaurant earlier... They confirmed that this was not the Chu Cai Guan that we had in Hang Zhou but they told us to give it a try... The food were quite good according to them... So we decided to check it out...

We waited for around 30 minutes... While waiting outside, I realized that there were a lot of pics showing celebrities that had meal in this particular restaurant before... Among them are F.I.R, Jackie Chan, and even former Prime Minister of Singapore, Goh Chok Tong just to name a few... Finally there was a table for us... Once sitted, and when we saw the menu, we realized that this restaurant belongs to celebrity gourmet Cai Lan... We ordered 2 dishes recommended by our friends and some other dishes...

When the food arrived, all of us were very excited... As usual, we took out our trusty camera and started snapping away... Frankly speaking when I had the first bite of the meat recommended by our friends, I paused for a while... Was it the food or my taste bud... Mind you, the food were not terrible but not up to our expectation... When we saw so many people queing up and all the photos of the celebrity it really heighten our expectation... But too bad it doesn't lived up to the hyped...

Besides the food, another thing that I need to stress out was about the service... Only 1 word to describe, SUCKS... Whenever we finished eating 1 of the dish, the waitress will start to take the empty plate backed... You must be thinking that I am too sensitive... Let me tell you that I am not... Our next table finish eating long before us... All of them sat there talking... None of the waitress took their empty plates... You know why this happened??? Because all the dishes that we ordered were those that are considered cheap, whereas our neighbour got those really expensive dishes... Other than that, 1 of our friend saw something really disgusting... She saw a waitress cleaning up another table... Guess nobody can guessed what happened next... The waitress spitted onto the plate that she was cleaning up...

It cost us RMB200.00... If you compared it to Chu Cai Guan that we had in Hang Zhou, it was really costly... The portioned that they served were smaller and there were only 4 of us... Too bad, we didn't had a very good dinner on our last day in China... But it was a memorable one...
